Boosting metabolism naturally (bee & coconut)

Bee pollen and coconut oil both have a reputation for supporting metabolism, so here's the honest version. Bee pollen, the tiny golden granules bees gather from flowers, contains protein, B vitamins and plant compounds. Coconut oil contains some medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), fats the body tends to burn quickly for energy rather than store. Small studies on MCTs are interesting, but neither food is a shortcut.

What truly supports a healthy metabolism is steady and simple: protein at each meal, strength training, good sleep and eating enough.

If you'd like to try them, sprinkle a teaspoon of bee pollen over yogurt or sauté veggies in a spoonful of coconut oil. Skip bee pollen if you have pollen or bee-sting allergies, and check with your doctor or practitioner first if you're unsure.
