Coconuts
Coconuts are a super food, there is not enough space to write about how much I love them. They are super rich in medium chained fatty acids (known as MCFAs), which are the type of fats that help your body produce energy, enhance your cell function and aid your overall metabolism. The fat found in coconuts is a healthy fat, a type of fat that is not easily stored in the body. In fact quite conversely, MCFAs can actually help you burn stored fat. Coconuts are a great source of calcium, vitamin A, essential trace minerals, and folic acid (B vitamin), which makes it a great food choice for women of childbearing age. Nutrients in coconuts support your immune system; are cholesterol free, gluten free, soy free and dairy free. Coconuts are super rich in dietary fiber and contain compounds that have the ability to rejuvenate oxidative stress damage on the body. Coconut water is an extremely isotonic beverage, rich in electrolytes and particularly hydrating to the body. Coconut water makes for an excellent post-workout fuel, giving your body a complete isotonic rebalancing.
