Find your why
"I should eat better" rarely survives a stressful Tuesday. A real reason does. Your why is the deeper motivation behind a change, and it's what keeps you going once the novelty wears off.
To find it, try the "five whys." Start with your goal, like "I want to cook at home more." Ask why. Then ask why again about your answer, five times in all. You might move from "to eat healthier" to "so I have energy to play with my grandkids and feel like myself again."
Try this: do the five whys for one health goal today. Write the final answer on a sticky note and put it somewhere you'll see it every morning.
