Fruit for snacking

Whole fruit is nature's fast food: sweet, portable and full of fiber and water. A few of my favorites for snacking:

  • Figs, apricots and papaya
  • Blueberries, cherries, strawberries and raspberries
  • Apples, grapefruit and cantaloupe
  • Avocado, which is technically a fruit and full of healthy fat

To keep your energy steady, pair fruit with a protein or healthy fat:

  • Apple slices with almond butter
  • Berries stirred into plain Greek yogurt with a sprinkle of hemp seeds
  • A small handful of walnuts with a few dried apricots

Try this: keep a bowl of washed fruit on the counter, where you'll see it first.
