Fundamental food (primary food)
One idea I share with clients all the time is primary food. What's on your plate is secondary food. Primary food is everything else that nourishes you: relationships, meaningful work, movement, rest, creativity and a sense of purpose.
When primary food is lacking, no amount of kale fills the gap. A stressful job or a lonely stretch can show up as late-night snacking or cravings. And when life feels full and connected, eating well often comes more naturally.
Try this: rate these areas from 1 to 10: relationships, work, movement, sleep, joy and spirituality. Pick the lowest one and choose one small step for this week, like a walk with a friend or ten minutes for a hobby you love.
