Gradual, lasting lifestyle changes
The changes that stick are rarely the dramatic ones. When clients come to me wanting to overhaul everything on Monday, I gently slow them down. Big, sudden shifts tend to feel exciting for a week and exhausting by the second.
Small steps work because they become automatic. Once one habit feels easy, you have room for the next, and the momentum builds on itself.
A few ways to keep it gradual:
- Pick one change at a time and give it two weeks before adding another
- Add something nourishing before taking anything away
- Attach the new habit to one you already have, like a glass of water with your morning coffee
Try this: choose the smallest version of one healthy change and start it today.
- habits
- self-care
