Habit stacking
The easiest way to build a new habit is to attach it to one you already have. This is called habit stacking: you use an existing routine as the cue for something new. Your brain already knows the first step, so the second one has something to hold on to.
A few examples:
- After I pour my morning coffee, I'll drink a glass of water.
- After I brush my teeth at night, I'll stretch for two minutes.
- While dinner cooks, I'll set out tomorrow's lunch containers.
Try this: choose one small habit you want to start and write your own "After I ___, I'll ___" sentence today.
