Healthy snacks
A good snack bridges the gap between meals so you arrive at dinner hungry, not ravenous. My simple formula: pair a protein or healthy fat with a fiber-rich food. That combination digests slowly, which helps keep blood sugar and energy steady.
A few of my go-to pairings:
- Apple slices with almond butter
- Carrots, cucumbers and bell peppers with hummus
- Plain Greek yogurt with berries and a sprinkle of hemp seeds
- A hard-boiled egg with cherry tomatoes
- A small handful of walnuts with a few dried apricots
- Roasted chickpeas with a pinch of sea salt
Try this: prep two snacks tonight and keep them at eye level in the fridge, so the easy choice tomorrow is the nourishing one.
