IBS and digestive imbalances
IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) can bring bloating, cramping, constipation, loose stools or a frustrating mix of all of them. It's a real condition rooted in how the gut and brain communicate, and triggers vary from person to person. Large meals, greasy foods, alcohol, caffeine, stress and certain fermentable carbs called FODMAPs are common ones.
Get a proper diagnosis from your doctor first, since other conditions can look similar. From there, I help clients look for patterns rather than cutting out long lists of foods at once:
- Keep a simple food, mood and symptom journal for two weeks
- Eat regular, moderate meals and chew slowly
- Make room for stress relief, like a walk or deep breathing
- If you try a low-FODMAP plan, keep it short-term and guided
Try this: start your journal with today's breakfast.
- digestion
- gut health
- constipation
