Lavender oil
Lavender's soft floral scent is a favorite for winding down. Research suggests that breathing in lavender may support relaxation and better sleep quality, which makes it a lovely part of a bedtime routine.
Ways to use it safely:
- Add 3–5 drops to a diffuser for 30 minutes before bed
- Put a drop on a cotton ball and tuck it near your pillow
- For skin, dilute 2–3 drops in a tablespoon of carrier oil, like jojoba or almond, and massage into your shoulders or feet
Essential oils are for the skin and the air only, so never swallow them. Patch test first, keep bottles away from kids and pets, and check with your doctor or practitioner if you're pregnant or have a health condition.
Try this: diffuse lavender tonight while you read.
