Manuka honey: an antibacterial powerhouse
One of the oldest natural sweeteners, honey actually tastes sweeter than sugar. Depending on the plant source, honey can have a range of flavors, from dark and strongly flavored to light and mildly flavored. Raw honey contains small amounts of enzymes, minerals and vitamins and in some cases can be used medicinally. (Some vegans choose not to eat honey, as it is a byproduct of bees). My most favorite honey is called Manuka Honey, which provides extraordinary antibacterial, anti microbial, antiviral, antioxidant, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and anti fungal benefits. Manuka honey can be used to treat a variety of internal and external ailments.
