Mint

Mint is one of the easiest herbs to grow and one of the most refreshing to eat. Peppermint tea is a classic after-dinner sip, with a long tradition of use for occasional bloating and indigestion, and some research supports it. One note: mint can relax the valve at the top of the stomach, so if you're prone to heartburn, notice how it sits with you.

Ways to enjoy it:

  • Steep a handful of fresh leaves in hot water for 5 minutes
  • Toss into fruit salad, especially with watermelon
  • Add to tabbouleh, grain salads or spring rolls
  • Muddle into sparkling water with lime and cucumber

Mint spreads quickly, so give it its own pot.

Try this: brew a cup of fresh mint tea after dinner tonight.
