Natural beauty: olive oil

Extra-virgin olive oil isn't just for the kitchen. It contains vitamin E and squalene, a moisturizing compound our own skin also makes, and it has been used in skin care around the Mediterranean for thousands of years.

A few simple ways to use it:

  • Massage a few drops into dry cuticles and elbows.
  • Soften rough heels: rub some in at night and slip on cotton socks.
  • Smooth a drop over dry hair ends.
  • Remove makeup with a cotton pad, then wash your face as usual.

Try this: keep a small bottle in the bathroom and start with your hands tonight. A little goes a long way.
