Quick snack: apple and peanut butter
Prep time: 2 minutes. This classic is one of the most balanced snacks around. Pairing the natural sugar in fruit with the protein and fat in peanut butter can help slow how quickly it reaches your bloodstream, so you stay satisfied longer.
Ingredients:
- 1 apple, cored and sliced
- 2 tablespoons natural peanut butter (look for just peanuts and salt)
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
- Optional: 1 teaspoon hemp seeds or a few raisins
Preparation:
- Slice the apple into wedges, or into rounds for fun "apple cookies."
- Spread or dip with peanut butter, then sprinkle with cinnamon and any toppings.
- Packing it for later? Toss the slices in a little lemon water to keep them from browning.
