Quick snack: toast with peanut butter and honey

Prep time: 5 minutes. Simple and satisfying, this snack pairs whole grains with the protein and fat in peanut butter, plus just a touch of honey. (A reminder for parents: honey isn't safe for babies under 1 year old.)

Ingredients:

  • 1 slice sprouted or 100% whole grain bread
  • 1 tablespoon natural peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon raw honey
  • Optional toppings: banana slices, a sprinkle of cinnamon or 1 teaspoon chia seeds

Preparation:

  • Toast the bread until golden.
  • Spread with peanut butter while it's warm so it melts in slightly.
  • Drizzle with honey and add any toppings you like.
