Season your veggie snacks

Plain veggies don't have to be boring. The right seasoning turns a bowl of raw or cooked veggies into something you'll actually crave. My favorite flavor-makers:

  • Sea salt and pepper
  • Gomasio, a toasted sesame and sea salt sprinkle
  • Cayenne pepper or cumin for warmth
  • Cinnamon on carrots, beets or sweet potatoes
  • A touch of toasted sesame oil: about 1/2 teaspoon for 1 to 2 cups of veggies (so delicious)

Try this: toss steamed broccoli with a little sesame oil and gomasio, or sprinkle cucumber slices with sea salt and a pinch of cayenne.
