Set a bedtime
We give kids a bedtime, then somehow decide we've outgrown one. Yet a consistent sleep schedule is one of the most helpful things you can do for your energy, mood and appetite. Your body runs on an internal clock, and it loves routine.
Most adults need seven to nine hours. Count back from when your alarm goes off, and that's your bedtime.
Your practice: set a "start winding down" alarm 30 minutes before your new bedtime. When it rings, dim the lights, put your phone to charge outside the bedroom and do something calm. Aim for roughly the same time most nights, weekends included.
