The power of thank you

Two small words can change the tone of a whole day. Saying "thank you" and meaning it strengthens relationships and shifts your attention toward what's going right. Research on gratitude suggests it's linked with better mood and stronger connections, for the person giving thanks as well as the one receiving them.

It works best when it's specific. "Thank you for making dinner, it was just what I needed after a long day" lands far deeper than a quick "thanks."

Try this: thank three people today, including one you usually take for granted, and tell each of them exactly what you appreciated.
