Upgrade snacks: savory cravings
When you're craving something salty and crunchy, chips aren't your only option. Savory cravings can sometimes mean you're hungry, thirsty or short on protein, so check in with yourself first.
A few satisfying swaps:
- Roasted chickpeas with olive oil and smoked paprika
- A handful of almonds or pumpkin seeds with sea salt
- Olives and veggie sticks with hummus
- A hard-boiled egg sprinkled with everything bagel seasoning
- Seaweed snacks
Try this cheesy-tasting popcorn: toss 3 cups of air-popped popcorn with 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast and a pinch of sea salt. Popcorn is a whole grain, so you get fiber with your crunch, and nutritional yeast adds a savory, nutty flavor without any cheese.
