Vitamin L: home-cooked meals

There's one ingredient you won't find on any label: Vitamin L, for love. When you cook at home, you choose what goes into your food, and research links cooking at home more often with eating more fruits and vegetables and less added sugar. But I think the biggest benefit is the connection that happens around the table.

It doesn't have to be fancy. A simple soup, a sheet-pan dinner or eggs and toast made with care all count. Invite your kids or partner to help wash, stir or set the table.

Try this: pick one night this week for a home-cooked meal, put the phones away and enjoy it together.
