Walnuts

To name a few benefits, walnuts provide cardiovascular protection, promote better cognitive function, are extremely anti-inflammatory, help to support the immune system, aid in lowering cholesterol and assists in the production of melatonin (which promotes sleep). Walnuts are an abundant source of Omega-3s, which are essential to consume and found in limited vegetarian sources. Melatonin (which is involved in inducing and regulating sleep, and is also a powerful antioxidant) is bio-available in walnuts, making them a great snack to have about 2 hours before bedtime- but just a few is all you need! Studies have shown that consuming even just 4 walnuts/daily is all it takes to provide the body with these tremendous health benefits.
