Watermelon
Watermelon is about 92 percent water, so on a hot day it's one of the tastiest ways to hydrate. It also brings vitamin C, a little potassium and lycopene, the red antioxidant also found in tomatoes. Plus it contains citrulline, an amino acid that research suggests may support blood flow and ease muscle soreness after exercise.
Don't toss the white part of the rind; it's edible and especially rich in citrulline. Pickle it or blend it into smoothies.
Try this: make a simple summer salad with 3 cups of cubed watermelon, a handful of torn mint, a squeeze of lime and a pinch of flaky salt. Add crumbled feta if you like a salty contrast.
